This year the focus has been on Artificial Intelligence. Students have been studying AI through various means that allow students to experiment with various AI interfaces, create AI programs, and understand how to properly collect, analyze, and use data to avoid bias in our AI coding programs. Currently, students are working on various STEM projects that create a deeper understanding of the Design Process of AI programming in our community; investigating various careers from diverse people in our community; and creating future models to assist in solving various problems in our community environment.
Art class is a vibrant and creative space where young artists can explore their imaginations and express themselves through various mediums. Under the guidance of our talented art teacher, Mr. Drennan (aka Mr. "D"), students engage in hands-on projects that introduce them to the Elements of Art and Principles of design. Students explore different techniques and styles, from drawing and painting to sculpture and collage. Each lesson is designed to inspire creativity, build on current units being learned in class, and develop self- confidence, fine motor and problem-solving skills. Whether we're studying famous artists such as DaVinci, Mondrian, Ringgold, O’Keefe, and Picasso or creating our own masterpieces, our class is a place where every student can flourish and discover the joy of artistic expression.
